So is anyone picking this game up? The open beta starts tomorrow and this game seems like it will be a lot of mindless fun. From what I was reading, it's going to be completely microtransaction funded(cosmetic/stash stuff only, not pay to win) which I'm cool with. That passive tree looks intimidating as hell but at the same time looks to provide plenty of build diversity. Heard nothing but good things from the people that played the closed beta.

Well I haven't been really impressed so far.  It has a lot of neat ideas.

I love the health/mana potion system, in that they are not consumable, they just recharge as you kill things and rather quickly.

I love the fact that there's no gold whatsoever.  Currency is items that you can use to upgrade equipment, or trade for equipment.  I love that.  Especially given that it's a freemium game.

What is really throwing me off is the slow and boring attack animations.  It just doesn't feel exciting to hit or break things.  Which might seem to be a petty complaint, but given that it's something you'll be seeing constantly, it really is important.

I started out playing as the Witch. I've only gotten to like level 7 and I can where you're coming from. The animations do seem to lack a certain something and it feels kind of clunky.  Critical hits are noticable impacts.

I'm going to wait until I beat the game before passing any final judgement. Also, it almost seems like there is absolutely no point to starting in the default league. If you die in the hardcore league, your character just gets bumped down to default and you can continue on as normal from there.

I've gotta say though, that passive skill tree is impressive and easy to get lost in trying to figure out where to go and how you want to build your character. And the fact that there's limited respecing has me excited that you'll actually see different builds.

Lastly, fuck the necromancer in the Fetish Pits... fucker revives those chickens way too fast...

It's a Freemium Diablo style game with a lot of cool ideas and goes out of its way to make sure it's not Pay to Win or Pay to Have Fun.

It's intentions are fantastic, even if the gameplay isn't as good.

As I was finishing act 1, I got the distinct impression that the creators of this game played Diablo 3 and said "Screw this game, we can do a lot better!". You got the goatmen, the butcher, etc that act just like things from the diablo series. Also, the gem system seems similar to an early concept in Diablo 3. I wonder if they made the basic animations purposely bad, so you'd go out and buy the custom animations. It'd make sense since this team needs to make money some how.

I haven't tried paryting in this game yet. Have just done everything solo. Would like to try partying at some point in this game.

The game is still technically in Beta(there won't be anymore character wipes though), so there is absolutely no risk in just trying the game. Well, aside from possibly becoming addicted.
