 Bribing Special Items
What are the chances of successfully bribing an item for the least expensive price?
The ± sign indicates a random range of values centering on a given number. The ± influence is determined by how much you bribed a monster. For instance, 30±15 means that a random number is chosen between all values from below 30 and down to 15, and above 30 up to 45. To influence getting a value above 30 or below 30 more more often, bribe less than the amount given to get a value below 30, or bribe more than the amount given to get a value above 30.
The ~ sign means a random value is chosen between the two values shown. For instance 24~78 means a random value is chosen from 24 to 78.
 Collecting Abilities
What kind of abilities can I acquire to support my weapons and armor?
Whenever an enemy is defeated, there is a chance it may drop one piece of equipment, either a weapon or an armor, for one character chosen at random. The abilities listed for the monster tell you what abilities under which qualifications are attached to that piece of equipment. Monsters drop weapons with a differing number of slots and a random number of abilities indicated on their Drop Weapon and Armor information. Some regular enemies drop weapons with no abilities at all. Regular enemies drop equipment with a given chance, some more often than others. Bosses will always drop equipment.

Stick with piercing weapons until you knock him over. After he says "You're next!" he'll unleash a powerful attack. Casts Blizzard when HP is low, so stay warm with NulFrost.

Battle Strategy
|
So soon after fighting Oblitzerator, you come across this monstrous boss who has a ton of HP, with very high and well rounded stats. Be wary of its physical attacks because he can outright kill either Lulu or Yuna even at full HP. So have plenty of Phoenix Downs to revive your characters quickly, as this fight has a unique twist to it. You'll find out soon enough that the Chocobo Eater plans to push you off a cliff. If you get pushed off, you don't get any spoils or rewards for doing so. However if you push it over the opposite cliff, you'll get 2 Level 1 Key Spheres as well as AP, Gil, and a piece of equipment. If you kill the Chocobo Eater without pushing it over the cliff, you won't get the Key Spheres. Pushing the Chocobo Eater over the cliff is no easy task either, as the closer you push him to the edge, the more often he pushes you back. With that aside here's how to push him over the cliff.
Start by having Auron using Power Break to lessen the damage the boss does by half, you'll find it a welcome relief. Now for every 1000 points of damage you do to the Chocobo Eater while it's standing you will knock it over. And for every 500 points of damage while it's on its back before its next turn, you push it towards the cliff. Since the Chocobo Eater has an astounding defense stat, you'll need to hit it as quickly as possible, so have Tidus cast Haste on everyone, especially Lulu, Kimahri, and Auron who can do tremendous amounts of damage to it when Hasted. If you keep this up, while switching in Yuna to recover your HP, you should be able to push the Chocobo Eater off the cliff.

Battle Strategy
|
This is one of my favourite battles in the game, because it is so long, epic, and has a great piece of music blaring in the background that just begs to be turned up full-blast. Ahem. Anyways this battle will require that you use all characters at your disposal to take down this boss. When you try to attack this boss head-on, it's arms will be in the way and you won't be able to damage this boss very much, if it all. The Arms are armored, so have Auron, and Kimahri take care of them, and they'll be chopped off after after a couple hits. Also you should watch for is the head, when it starts to move, hit with magic or use Wakka's attack to make it stop. This is to prevent it from using a fairly hard hitting attack that poisons a character. If you kill the head, it won't come back, unlike the Arms which do after three turns. So use Wakka and Lulu to take out the head, while Kimahri and Auron dispatch the arms so that it enables Tidus and all the other characters to strike the body. Yuna should be around to recover your HP, and you should beware of Gui's attacks as they do tremendous amounts of damage and can even kill Auron in one hit. To lessen the damage use Auron's Power Break on the body ASAP. When Gui is down to less than 2000 HP have Yuna summon Ifrit, and let Gui charge up Ifrit's Overdrive Gauge, while Ifrit heals himself using his Fire spell. When it's charged and when both arms have regenerated, unleash Ifrit's Overdrive to Overkill all three targets at once. You're not done yet however...

Dispatch the head quickly with Lulu's Spells and Wakka's attack. But you should focus on getting rid of the arms first, and hit the head when it starts to twitch. When the arms are dipatched use Wakka and Lulu to get rid of the head, while other characters hit the body. Keep your HP high by using Yuna's Cure and you'll have no problems.

The arms are heavily armored, and only magic and piercing weapons will do. Use Auron, Kimahri, and/or Lulu to take care of the arms. Dispatch the arms quickly so you can get a chance to strike the body. You must dispatch both arms to be able to hit the body. The arms will regenerate after three turns, so you'll need to keep on killing them.
Gaining tons of AP from this fight: As you can see that the arms give you Gil and AP for eahc time you kill them, and thta you have to kill them repeatedly throughout the battle, you can try to continuously kill the arms as many times as you like to gain a ton of AP and gil from this fight. You'll probably gain anywhere from 7 to 20 Sphere Levels or more if you hang around here by repeatedly killing the arms.

Battle Strategy

Sinspawn Gui is back from the brink of death, and a majority of your party is nowhere in sight. Fortunatly you have a surprising new ally that makes this battle a cakewalk, Seymour. Seymour can kill the arms and the head with just one blast from Fira, Thundara, Watera, or Blizzara. Basically just support Seymour to defeat Gui once and for all. Auron should just attack as normal, and Yuna should recover everyone's HP. You didn't really need the rest of the party for this fight anyways. Seymour should easily be able to Overkill Gui himself. At long last this battle is over and you'll finally receive the massive amount of AP and Gil along with a few pieces of equipment.
Seymour's Overdrive: Seymour is only available for this one battle only. So this is your only chance to have a peek at Seymour's Ovedrive "Requiem". Just sit around long enough for Seymour's Overdrive Gauge to charge, and use it as a final blow against Gui. It does anywhere from 2500 - 3500 damage to all enemies.

Even though you only have Wakka and Tidus for this fight, it is surprisingly easy compared to the gauntlet of the previous battle. Equip any Lightningstrike weapons you have along with any water-elemental armors you have for Tidus and Wakka at this point. If you have them this fight will be over very soon. Just attack as you normally do, and heal whenever your HP falls into the yellow zone by using Potions. If the Extractor moves above you, quickly hit it before its next turn, otherwise it'll continuously pound both Wakka and Tidus. If Wakka gets an Overdrive line up at least two lightning (yellow) slots for a tremendously powerful attack that's sure to Overkill this boss.

Battle Strategy
|
This boss has a peculiar trait to it. It can constantly change it's elemental weaknesses and strengths, but since you can't use Sensor or Scan to keep tabs on this it can be a little maddening to figure out how to damage it. Since physical attacks hardly hurt it you'll have to rely on Lulu to use her elemental spells to help you out. Start by having Lulu use Focus 4 or 5 times to increase her magic power and defense by a substantial amount. Now you're going to have to pay special attention to what spells Spherimorph uses, and it'll only use magic as a counterattack if you hit it physically. When Spherimorph casts either Fire, Thunder, Water, or Blizzard this gives away his weakpoint, so hit with a spell of the opposite element. If it uses Fire, cast Blizzard on it. If it uses Thunder, cast Water. If it uses Water, use Thunder. If it uses Ice, use Fire. Now that you know how to damage this boss it's pretty simple from here on out. Just have Yuna around to recover your HP whenever you need to.
I strongly reccommend that you try and Overkill Spherimorph as it drops the very rare and hard to get Level 2 Key Spheres. Do this by picking an Aeon, either Ifrit or Ixion, and summon them at the beginning of the battle. Let Spherimorph charge their Overdrive gauges and dismiss them when they are full. When Spherimorph takes several thousand points of damage (you'll have to keep a mental track record and remember that Spherimorph has 12,000 HP), keep hitting Spherimorph until it's weak against the same element as they Aeon you chose. Summon the Aeon again and unleash their Overdrive for the Overkill.
