Bribing Special Items
What are the chances of successfully bribing an item for the least expensive price?

The ± sign indicates a random range of values centering on a given number. The ± influence is determined by how much you bribed a monster. For instance, 30±15 means that a random number is chosen between all values from below 30 and down to 15, and above 30 up to 45. To influence getting a value above 30 or below 30 more more often, bribe less than the amount given to get a value below 30, or bribe more than the amount given to get a value above 30.

The ~ sign means a random value is chosen between the two values shown. For instance 24~78 means a random value is chosen from 24 to 78.

Collecting Abilities
What kind of abilities can I acquire to support my weapons and armor?

Whenever an enemy is defeated, there is a chance it may drop one piece of equipment, either a weapon or an armor, for one character chosen at random. The abilities listed for the monster tell you what abilities under which qualifications are attached to that piece of equipment. Monsters drop weapons with a differing number of slots and a random number of abilities indicated on their Drop Weapon and Armor information. Some regular enemies drop weapons with no abilities at all. Regular enemies drop equipment with a given chance, some more often than others. Bosses will always drop equipment.

Its Photon Wings attack causes confusion, sleep, silence, darkness, curse, and other status effects. Tail Sweep negates Haste and delays targets' next turn. Uses healing magic and Reflect, among other spells.
 Battle Strategy
This battle isn't really a hard one, just a very annoying one, because the Sancutary Keeper is unusually, very smart. In fact it's very very smart. It has an amazingly high defense stat, and no it's not armored. Don't think you can lower it's defenses though, because if you do it'll counter by casting Protect or Shell on itself depending if you used Armor break or Mental Break, or even Auron's Banishing Blade inwhich case it'll counter with both spells at once. And if you think using Dispel to get rid of them works, it doesn't because it also negates all the Break statuses as well. You can however inflict Power Break and Magic Break on this boss with no worries, and it's reccomended you do so because this boss likes to heal for 9999 HP every now and again for a few turns. Magic Break will make that healing become arund 4900 now. If you're thinking why not use Reflect on this boss to make him heal your characters, well the boss has prepared for that and will either cast Dispel on himself on his next turn, or cast Reflect on one of your characters immediately before Reflecting Curaga back onto himself. On occasion the Sanctuary Keeper will cast Regen on himself, and this is very bad as he'll start recovering massive amounts of HP each every turn you take as well as his. You'll have no choice but to cast Dispel on the Sanctuary Keeper ASAP to get rid of it. The Sanctuary Keeper isn't just smart defensively, it's also very deadly offensively. If you cast Haste on your chaarcters be very aware that if you hit it, this boss will have a tail swipe that does a sizeable amount of damage as a counterattack which gets rid of all your character's Haste status should it hit. Don't even think about casting Slow on the Sanctuary Keeper as it'll immediately counter by casting Haste on itself, which you will have to use Dispel to get rid of. It's main attack you should watch out for is Photon Wings. On top of it doing a lot of damage to all characters, it inflicts a variety of status ailments including confusion. Having all characters confused is the most deadly thing that can happen. So be prepared by having some Confusion protection armors for your characters. Also watch out for it's Mana Breath attack which does a tremendous amount of damage to s ingle character, but becomes survivable if you Magic Break the Sanctuary Keeper. So you'll basically have to tough it out with this boss and heal normally. Using Magic Break is highly reccommended as it lowers the strength of his Curaga by half. Keep up the pressure and when he's almost dead and has around 10,000 HP charge up an Aeon's Overdrive gauge and use it to Overkill the boss.

Cheap and Dirty strategy:
This boss is vulnerable to Threaten. Threaten makes it so that a monster is frozen stiff with fear until the character who is threatening the monster makes another action. if you keep Threatening the Sanctuary Keeper, it'll just stand there and do absolutly nothing. Enabling you to kill it at your leisure.

Attacks all frontal targets when hit. It will plant a Glyph Mine upon a circle, causing instant KO when detonated. Use the trigger command Move to transfer to another circle.
 Battle Strategy
This battle is probably the most ingenious and unique one you'll ever find in this game. There are 6 Panels surroundng the boss, and their can only be 1 character on each panel. To beat this boss, you will have to move your charcters around on the panels. I suggest arranging your characters in a triangular formation around the boss. The Spectral Keeper will counterattack everything you do, and the counter attack hits all the characters within range of his claws. If you're arranged in a triangular formaiton the counterattack will only hit 1 character rather than all three. The Spectral Kepper likes to try and Berserk your characters, but this is an especially bad thing. If a character is Berserked, then they lack the ability to heal themselves and can generally make a mess of things by causing theboss to counterattack when you don't want it to. So cure this status should the boss inflict it. You'll know a character has been berserked when the camera closes in on a character hit by Berserk Tail. This fight is made a little more complex by the addition of Glyph Mines, if a character is standing on a Panel where a Glyph Mine is planted and it detonates, the character will be killed instantly. To avoid this, move any characters immediately over to another panel before the mine detotantes. You can see which mine will detonate and when via the CTB order on the screen. Keep attacking the Spectral Keeper, heal constantly, and always cure someone who's Berserked ASAP, and you'll be fine. If you're looking for an Overkill charge up Yuna's overdrive Gauge so she can use Grand Summon, and summon Bahamut to use Mega Flare whent he Spectral Keeper has less than about 15000 HP.

Casts Curaga and Regen on zombified characters. Cure zombie with Holy Water. Her counterattacks dispel support magic. She also curses aeons with her Mind Blast.
 Battle Strategy
Yunalesca is for the most part a pushover, and very easy to beat. Most of her attacks aren't too damaging, and she relies mostly on status attacks against your party. However she as a very nasty surprise in store for you. Yunalesca has three forms, so I'll go over them one by one.

Yunalesca's First Form:
This first part is a joke. She only has 24000 HP, which is far less than the other bosses you've been facing. She counters everything you do with status magic, but that's easily remedied. If you attack her physically, she'll counter by blinding that character. If you attack her with magic, she'll silence that character. If you attack with skills and such, she'll put that character to sleep. All these statuses are easily remedied by using Eye Drops, Echo Screens, and Yuna's Esuna magic. Her only attack does a measily 250 damage to a character.

Yunalesca's Second Form:
She has twice as much HP as before, but she has only one new attack and that's Hellbiter, which only does around 200 damage to all characters and puts them into Zombie status. Her 48000 HP is nothing if she can't adequately harm your characters. Be aware though not to leave characters in Zombie status for too long, or else she'll cast Regen and Cura on that character, which will actually damage them quite quickly and severly. But Yunalesca does this only sparingly, and gives you plenty of time to recover. Take my advice now and summon an Aeon right before you kill this second form. Use the Aeon to kill the second form, because Yunalesca has a very nasty surprise in store for the unwary who think this battle is turning int a complete walkover.

Yunalesca's Third Form:
As soon as she transforms into her third form, she immediately casts Mega Death. Normally, this is an Instant Death spell which you cannot avoid and will kill all characters, but since Aeon's are immune to Instant Death attacks, Mega Death does nothing. You're pretty much free to damage Yunalesca as you please from here. All her status effects do nothing. Mega Death which she'll cast sparingly from now on will always miss, Hellbiter only does 300 damage, and Aeon's are immune to Zombie. The only attack to watch out for is Mind Blast. This attack curses and confuses all characters. But against Aeons it curses them, disabling their Overdrives and Overdrive Gauge. If you have an Aeon whom you've taught Dispel to, you can have the Aeon cast Dispel onitself to get rid of this condition. Just keep trading blows with Yunalesca as much as you can, Yunalesca might even heal the Aeon herself because she randomly uses Cura thinking they are in Zombie status after Hellbiter hits. If you have an elemental Aeon (Ifrit, Shiva, or Ixion) use their own spells to heal them. It consumes less MP than the Cure spells you teach them. And that's all there is to it. Yunalesca is practically powerless if you have an Aeon summoned.

When you've located Baaj Temple on the Airship's destination map, you can return to where you fought Geosgaeno at the beginning of the game. This time though you can fight it here for real. A word of warning before taking this boss on. Equip Stoneproof armors for Tidus, Rikku, and Wakka. Only those three characters will be able to fight Geosgaeno, as it takes place underwater. With Stoneproof armors your characters should easily be able to topple this beast. Equip any elemental weapons you have to increase damage, and have Rikku use and steal Water Gems for massive damage against this boss. The only attack to watch out for is KO Punch, which randomly kills a character, so revive them quickly. Geosgaeno should fall after only a few rounds of fighting.

No, you're not seeing things, this really is Ultima Weapon's stats. Most of the monsters you fight here in the Omega Ruins can be a lot tougher than Ultima Weapon. Ultima Weapon ha several attacks at his disposal, and none of them are threatening to your party. His "Big Attacks" consist of doing 2500 damage to one character, or inflicting about 1800 damage to everyone. All his other attacks involve status magic which only hit's one character and doesn't do any damage. And since he only has 70,000 HP you can kill him rather quickly and eaily if you're unprepared.

But defeating him in my opinion is not nearly as rewarding as the items you can get from him. 20 Doors to Tomorrow a steal!. Have someone equipped with Master Thief and steal just 5 times to get 99 of them. Dors to Tomorrow will prove very useful as 10 of them can attach the ever exploitable ability Overdrive -> AP. Also it's far better to actually Bribe Ultima Weapon instead of defeating him, because he drops behind a boatload of Pendulums, which you can use for getting more Master Thief attachments. This is by far the easiest way to get a lot of Pendulums quickly. But you'll need 1,400,000 gil with which to bribe Ultima Weapon. You can get the Gil you need by defeating the Mimics in the Omega Ruins as they drop 50,000 Gil, double that if someone has Gillionaire attached to their weapon. It's definitly worth the trip to face Ultima Weapon, despite an anti-climatic battle.

This is it, Omega Weapon is here and he's about to rip you a new one......well not really. Almost all of Omega Weapon's attacks are just a little bit stronger than Ultima's, but they're still in no danger of killing you. Omega Weapon however does have two attacks that can kill your whole party. It can cast Ultima which will do about 8000 damage to everyone, and italso has Apocalypse which does around the same amount of damage, but ignores all magic defense stats and any protective statuses as well. The only way to survive these attacks is to have Auto-Life on all characters. So if Yuna has Auto-Life cast it now on everyone. Don't worry too much, since Omega Weapon uses those two attacks very rarely. Unfortunately, for Omega that is, you've probably gained and used up enough Sphere Levels and have Anima in hand that you can potentially kill Omega in one hit from Anima's Overdrive. Resist that temptation long enough to do a few things.

First and foremost, have Kimahri use Lancet on Omega so he can learn his ultimate Ronso Rage, Nova. There is only one other monster in the game that has this ability, but it's in the monster Arena and takes forever to unlock. So get this ability NOW. The other thing is that you can steal 30 Gambler Spirits at a time here, this is the best Mixing Item for Rikku you'll ever need as it produces a variety of very powerful mixes, and the only other thing it can be used for is to attach SOS Overdrive, a virtually useless ability.

Have you got everything from Omega now? 99 Gambler Spirits? Kimahri's Nova? Good, now Grand Summon Anima to kill Omega in one hit to get 6 Lv. 4 Key Spheres. It's worth it fighting the two Weapons, even though they're not much of a challenge.
