 Acquiring Experience
How do my characters gain spells and abilities through experience?
After defeating an enemy or boss, your party will acquire experience
based on the amount of damage they inflicted on a vanquished monster. As your character
increases their experience level, they obtain new spells and abilities. Spells and abilities
are acquired in a specific order, each new spell and ability powerful than the last. These
spells and abilities are not related to any equipment and are obtained by the character
naturally.

Stick to the basics for this first boss fight. While the boss is in its normal form, have Cecil attack and Kain use his Jump command. When the boss turns into its alternate form of mist, Parry to avoid its counterattack until it returns to its normal form and you can safely return to attacking.

Cecil should stick to attacking (hopefully using that nice new sword you should have picked up in the earlier part of the dungeon). Tellah should constantly cast Lit1. Rydia should have learned Cure1 by this point, so use her to keep your party's health up. You can use this boss' tentacles to judge his HP level; the less tentacles he has, the closer you are to killing him.

Hopefully Rydia has gained a number of levels since she joined your party in Kaipo, because she is the key to winning this boss fight. Antlion has a very strong special attack that he will use to counter all of your attacks, except for one: Rydia's Chocb summon. To win this fight easily, have Rydia do nothing but summon Chocb, have Cecil guard, and have Tellah heal whoever needs it, or give an Ether to Rydia if her MP gets too low.

Simply have your party attack, and use Tellah or Rosa to heal when the need arises. The real fight begins when the boss puffs up. At that point, make sure your characters are fully healed, because in a few rounds, the boss wil perform Explode, damaging your party and splitting into several smaller bombs. Heal up, and eliminate all of the smaller bombs to win the fight. Try to do it quickly, as if you take too long, the smaller bombs will kill themselves by using Explode on a party member, usually killing your party member along with themselves.

Use Twin magic right off to eliminate Milon's zombie guards. Then, you can focus on eliminating Milon. Have Cecil attack, while the Twins constantly use their Twin attack. Tellah should concentrate on healing the party's damage from Milon's powerful Lit1 spells.

Though Milon Z looks intimidating, there's actually a very easy way to win this battle. Make sure Palom knows Fire2, and before you cross the bridge, switch your party's rows so those who were in the back are in the front and vice versa. When the fight begins, have Palom continuously cast Fire2, which should do quite a large amount of damage to Milon Z. Cecil should attack as always, and Tellah and Porom should heal damage and cure whoever is struck by Milon Z's poison attack. Be sure to remember to switch your party order after the fight.

Have Cecil defend. Do nothing but defend, and whatever you do, don't attack. If the need arises, you can use a Potion or one of Cecil's new cure spells. After a few rounds, your dark side will simply disappear.

The fight with Yang should be quite simple. Have Cecil attack. Tellah should cast any of his level 3 elemental spells. Palom should cast Fire2, while Porom should heal. After a few rounds, Yang should fall.

One of the first things Baigan will do is cast Wall, so attack magic will be out of the question for most of this fight. Have Cecil, Palom, and Tellah use their physical attacks against the body, while Porom heals. There is a slight break between the time that Wall wears off and when Baigan will recast it, so if you're feeling lucky, you can have Tellah try to time a level 3 spell to hit during that interval, but you risk about 1000HP of damage against someone in your own party if you miscalculate and Wall is still up. Ignore the arms until you defeat the body, then go after them when the body is dead. Kill them quickly, or they will explode.

Have Cecil and Yang attack, while Palom casts Lit2 and Porom cures. Tellah can end this battle rather quickly, however, if he casts Lit3 a few times, which will do an enourmous amount of damage to this boss.

There are two ways to fight this battle, the easy way and the hard way. If you want to fight the hard way, attack until he transforms into the Dark Dragon. Once that happens, have Cecil, Cid, and Yang attack while Tellah constantly heals any damage done by the Dark Breath attack. If someone goes down, have a member use a Life potion; don't stop Tellah's regiment of Cure spells to use a Life spell. If you want the easy way out, after he transforms, have Tellah cast Weak, and then have any party member attack him for an easy win.

Sandy should be the third Magus Sister you kill, after Cindy and Mindy. She has weak attacks and relatively low defense, and should be no problem to take down. Just be sure you heal anyone she uses Confuse on.

Cindy should be the first Magus Sister you go after. She will have a Wall up most of the time, so have Cecil, Yang, and Cid physically attack while Tellah heals. After the third Delta attack, though, there will be a point where the Wall wears off before Mindy recasts it. Have Tellah slip a level 3 spell in there for some quick damage. Before too long, she'll go down.

Mindy should be the second Magus Sister you kill, after Cindy. She has a few relatively weak spells, but at this point in the game, they should pose no problem. Have Cecil, Yang, and Cid attack while Tellah casts level 3 spells.
