Acquiring Experience
How do my characters gain spells and abilities through experience?

After defeating an enemy or boss, your party will acquire experience based on the amount of damage they inflicted on a vanquished monster. As your character increases their experience level, they obtain new spells and abilities. Spells and abilities are acquired in a specific order, each new spell and ability powerful than the last. These spells and abilities are not related to any equipment and are obtained by the character naturally.

Cecil, Yang, and Cid should all attack, while Rosa heals. Kain should Jump, because not only does his Jump do extra damage here, it is the only way to stop Valvalis' tornado. Be sure to heal anyone the fiend attmpts to turn into stone.

Once all the dolls unite into the large doll, the real fight starts. Have Cecil, Kain, and Yang attack while Rosa heals. Cure any party members the boss Confuses. If your party is at decent levels, this fight shouldn't be too hard. Be warned, though, that if you take to long, the boss will revert into the small dolls and you will have to go through this all over again.

Have Kain Jump at the start of this battle; if you're lucky, he'll miss Golbez's instant kill attack, which can be a huge help. Hey, look who's back. Have Cecil revive Rosa, and then attack, and have Kain attack as well, if he's still alive. Rydia should summon Titan while Rosa revives dead party members. If you fight smart, he should go down fairly quickly.

 Battle Strategy
You'll be fighting both Lugae and Balnab at the same time. They aren't that much of a threat as long as Rosa is healing the party and everyone else is attacking. Keep a close eye on how much damage you're dealing to them. When they're down to about a 1000 or so HP left, have Rydia summon Titan to kill them both at the same time. If you leave Lugae standing on his own, you'll end up fighting Balnab-Z. If you leave Balnab standing on it's own it'll explode, causing massive damage to one of your characters, and possibly killing that character for the start of the next fight immediatly after.

If you leave Lugae standing after defeating Balnab, Lugae will eventually take control of Balnab himself to become Balnab-Z. It's imperitive you kill this boss quickly if it appears, otherwise after about 3 or 4 turns it'll explode and cause massive damage to one of your characters. Kain should Jump, Cecil and Yang should attack, and Rydia should be casting Bio. Don't worry about healing in this fight because Balnab-Z still doesn't pose much of a threat, as knocking off about 4500 with everyone hitting their hardest shouldn't take more than 3 rounds.

The second battle against Lugae isn't all that different from the first one. Lugarborg will start by poisoning everyone. Don't worry about it as he'll cure the whole party of poison later on. So just concentrate on having Cecil and Yang attacking, Kain jumping, and Rosa recovering everyones HP. Rydia should either cast Bio or Titan to inflict large amounts of damage.

This can be a tough fight if you aren't prepared. Equip everyone with Ice equipment for this fight if you haven't already. Never attack with magic while Rubicant is hiding in his cloak, as the spell with heal him. Since Cecil and Kain should be wielding an Ice Sword and an Ice Lance, respectively, casting Beserk on them can have great results. Rydia should cast Ice2 and/or summon Shiva. Edge should either attack, or, if the cloak is open, cast Flood. Rosa should concentrate on healing damage and reviving party members killed by Glare.

This battle must be fought quickly, as Evil Wall will constantly advance on your party and, when it gets close enough, use an instant kill attack. Have Rosa cast Berserk on Cecil, Kain, and Edge, while having her heal damage caused by the Evil Wall. If the Evil Wall starts using its instant kill attack, have Rosa cast Life on the dead person to revive them, and continue attacking.

Rydia should concentrate on casting Virus, or if she does not know that, summoning Leviathan.

Valvalis is a little tougher than the other three fiends, but not by much. The strategy here is a little different. FuSoYa should do the bulk of the damage by casting Holy, while if you have Cecil equipped with a holy sword, you can do a fair amount of damage as well. Rydia should use the Sylph summon, if she has it, or summon Asura to heal. Rosa should heal and cure anyone who Valvalis uses Weak on or turns to stone. Edge should simply attack. She'll go down without much trouble.
