 Acquiring Esper Experience
How does my magicite gain experience after defeating an enemy or boss?
After defeating an enemy or boss, your equipped esper gains the total experience collected
from each defeated monster multiplied by the learn rate of the magic spell the character
is currently trying to learn. These multipliers are listed on each corresponding magic on
the esper page. Once your character has learned a magic spell, the esper can be removed and
the spell will be retained as a magic ability.

MagiMaster constantly changes his elemental alignment. Spells that hurt him in one round may end up healing him in the next. Casting Berserk puts a stop to this. When you do this, cast Scan to see what his weakpoint is set to, and then exploit it.
Cast non-elemental spells like Ultima and Flare and use Espers like Bahamut and Maduin. MagiMaster casts Ultima as a parting shot before he dies, so cast Life 3 on everyone before you kill him.

He is protected by a Reflect spell which you cannot get rid of. To hit him with magic cast Rflect on one of your own characters and bounce spells off of them to hit Nerapa. If you have Thunder Blades, Blizzard swords, Ice Rods, or Thunder Rods, equip them on your characters and attack physically for a quicker fight. Since you're on a strct time limit that might be the best strategy to kill him quickly.

Since this boss likes to change his vulnerabilities and defenses stick to just regular physical attacks, but don't use any elemental ones. Cyan's Dispatch, Sabin's Pummel, and Edgar's Flash or Chainsaw will cut through his defenses easily. Also try to steal from him, as he has some rare, and powerful weapons to be had at this point in the game.

The arms will regenerate and come back again should you destroy them, so ignore them and focus all your attacks on the main body. With Celes gone for this fight, healing might become a bit of a problem, so use as many Potions as you can for healing. Just pray Number 128 doesn't use Blaster a bunch of times in a row, as a hit from that can instantly kill a character. Also try and steal the Tempest from him for Cyan, it may take a while but this sword will make random battles a breeze later on.

Don't worry, you're not expected to knock off all 60,000 HP in this fight against him, you'll be able to kill him later on in the game. Just have Celes heal when you need to, and have Sabin attack Phunbaba constantly. After a little while Phunbaba will just run away, and one of the kids in Mobliz will give you the Fenrir Magicite that Phunbaba dropped as he ran away.

Pick any 4 characters before returning to Mobliz. It doesn't really matter which 4 you pick, because after a few rounds Phunbaba will blow away 2 random characters from the battle. Terra will show up and permanently morph into her Esper form to help you out. She starts the battle fully equipped, and could practically kill Phunbaba all by herself. Keep hitting Phunbaba with physical attacks and use Poison and Bio to damage him severely. Heal when necessary and keep attacking Phunbaba until he's gone for good.

Not an overly hard fight, just a long one. Most of this boss's more powerful attacks are fire-elemental, so equip your characters to protect them against those types of attacks. Strangely this boss is weak to poison-elemental attacks, and Bio can do incredible amounts of damage against him. Use Ultima and Flare if you have them, and don't use any fire-elemental attacks against him. Heal characters after every attack he does to make sure they're always at full HP, because a blast from the Wave Cannon he uses, might kill the whole party. Keep the pressure up on him and eventually he'll fall, giving you the strongest spear in the game.

Shiva is thankfully an easier alternative than trying to fight Ifrit, as you'll have plenty of sources for fire-elemental damage. Equip Sabin with the Fire Knuckle found in Zozo, Locke with the Flame Sabre, and use the Fire spell taught to you by Siren to easily take care of Shiva.

Despite it's appearance, this boss is actually not an undead boss, so you can't kill it using curative items like a Fenix Down or a Revivify. But since it's weak to fire-elemental attacks, you can kill this boss quite easily with a number of Fire 3s in a row. Keep casting Fire 3 and attacking it physically and it'll be dead in no time. The attacks it uses aren't very powerful at this stage in the game, so they pose no threat at all.

Battle Strategy
|
For a boss placed at this point of the game, he sure is incredibly hard to beat. All of the Storm Dragon's attacks can do well over 1000 damage, which can be outright brutal against your characters now. For starters, put everyone in the back row so that they have a chance to survive against it's physical attacks, and then summon Zoneseek to lessen the damage it's magic attacks cause to the party. No have Celes and Setzer heal each and every round, while Edgar attacks with his Drill, and Sabin casts Bolt 2 constantly. It'll take a long while to take down the Storm Dragon, and possibly a lot of tries, but he is defeatable. If you want extra protection against his physical attacks, summoning Golem could be a great help.
