Although somewhat shy, Rinoa is very straightforward and honest with those around her. Her tenderness, warm-hearted nature, and kind compassion makes her very endearing. She originates from a forest town called Timber, fighting for their independence against the control from Galbadia. Weapons in Final Fantasy VIII aren't interchangeable, but specifically designed for each character. Initial weapons (weakest) are equipped by default. More powerful weapons require parts which are acquired from defeating and/or stealing them from enemies, or refining items. In addition, you must obtain magazines, located throughout the world, which contain weapon information in order to make them available as an upgrade. Visit Upgrade Shops, located in most well-populated towns, to upgrade weapons.
