The Sealion appears alongside Black Waltz #1, and is a fairly tough monsters as you'll only have Zidane to fight them both at once. Go after the Sealion last, and let it charge up Zidane's trance Gauge, while Zidane steals the items it has, and heals himself accordingly. When Zidane trances, use his most powerful attack only when his HP is full as you'll get hit twice. Once you survive that, do the same thing again to dispatch the Sealion.

Black Waltz #3 isn't too much different than your previous Black Waltz battles, although somewhat stronger. Black Waltz #3 has the same weaknesses as #2 (wind and lightning), but will attack with Thundara magic. Since Vivi will automatically go into Trance when this battle starts, take advantage of his more powerful magic skills and use Steiner and Zidane to dish out physical attacks. Make sure you steal the equipment Black Waltz #3 has and heal your characters accordingly since Dagger is not among your party this round.

This can be a tough battle, if not lengthy. Make sure you've stocked up on recovery items and magic. Thunder magic and any wind spells can inflict signficant damage. Quina's forks can do fairly decent damage as well. Make sure you trade off attacks with recovery to keep your party up to par. If you're needing extra equipment for Vivi, and can survive, try stealing from Gizamaluke.

Throughout the world of Final Fantasy IX, you may encounter a friendly monster in battle who is looking for an item more than a fight. Of course, attacking a friendly monster will cause it to run away. However, should you give the friendly monster the item its looking for, you will be treated with an AP bonus and an item in return.

As listed in order on the friendly monsters page, take the winning item and give it to the next friendly monster. After you've exchanged all the necessary items between monster to monster, you'll have finished a sub quest which enables you to battle the optional boss Ozma at short range. Consult the secret boss page for information and tactics on this boss.
