Announced at Tokyo Game Show overnight (for me anyway).  And it's on sale right now (maybe with PS+? Not sure if it's on sale without or not) - don't know for how long.

Very excited about this!  I may have only beaten FFIX once - twice at the most.  But it's one of my favorites.  Not sure why I haven't played it as much as others.  Actually it's probably because I got it after college, so work combined with more disposible income meant less replaying games.

Anyway it has cheats like the FFVII PS4 port.  Very psyched for the speed boost (probably all I'll use during my first playthrough), which will also allow me to get Excalibur II for the first time ever - cause not interested in trying to do that legit.

Little scared for jump rope trophies - never really bothered putting time into that.  Also you have to play a lot of Tetra Master, which I don't really remember liking.

Tempted to ditch Persona 5 for this, but I'm getting close to done with that so I'll be good.

We all float down here...

I picked it up.  Haven't played in years, so should be a blast.

I never bothered much with the jump rope minigame, but I'll give it a shot.  Hopefully, you'll be able to grind out quick Tetra Master matches somewhere, because I didn't care for it, either.

I might grab this, that speed boost would probably be the biggest draw for me, the battle system was infuriatingly slow even at its "fastest" setting.  Don't remember the card game featuring much, aren't the only madatory matches a tournament one time that you can just quickly lose at?  Been years since I played through the whole game though, could be wrong.

Ok so I got it.  Generally looks good but there are some minor irritations that might fester and grow in me.  Chiefly you have to pause the game to turn on the speed boost, I only want it for battles so coming out of one and having to quickly pause as shit goes on in fast forward just so I can turn it off again rankles a bit.  Can't change controls and I always preferred the "Circle to confirm, X to cancel" Jap-style system that FFVII originally defaulted to.  And I always hated the little exclamation point bubble that signified you can talk to someone...now there's that and a fucking card one for all the people you can challenge, which is like everyone, it looks cluttered and ugly as hell.

Everything is still a thousand times better than FF15 though.  I hope they eventually go the extra mile and do FF8 even though it never got the souped up kind of PC port this and FFVII did.

There have been some reddit posts about problems with this port.  But for changing the circle and X inputs PS4 has a way to do that systematically.  And someone suggested you can put it as a shortcut in your PS button menu so you can toggle it on and off or something?  I haven't tried it.

Yeah I saw that, I'm probably one of the complainers you were reading over there.  Ironically the speed boost, the main reason I decided to buy this, is too speedy to be used enjoyably.  I have no idea why they couldn't just have directly copied the one from FF7 which was perfect.
