I'm looking to change providers and get a new plan this November when my current family plan with AT&T ends. What are my best options price wise? I'm looking at 4 lines in total, probably all needing smart phone data plans. Coverage doesn't seem to be an issue where I live. I guess my options are: stick with AT&T or switch to Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile. Anyone know the price differences or other pros and cons for multi-line plans through these providers? Thanks.

next month i'll be starting wal-mart's family mobile service (through t-mobile) which offers two lines with unlimited everything for $70 a month. not sure about the smartphone compatibility with it but it looks like it does cover a number of smartphones.

i'd prefer this kind of prepaid service even if i COULD get a contract phone, which are fucking rip offs in my experience. prepaid used to be a dirty word in the cellphone world, but you can actually get a good deal and it's less of a headache in most cases.

Sprints unlimited plan is $99 a month and I think 5$ for each additional phone on the plan.

Or that's how it used to be. Less than ulimited minutes (still unlimited data) is $70 a month.

T-Mobile has an unlimited everything (2GB data, throttled afterwards) for $49.99 a month.

I think T-Mobile has the cheapest plans available while offering some of the best Android phones. I pay $90 a month for unlimited everything (data, texts, minutes). I also have the HTC Sensation which makes my buh-hoh moist.

I made this for you!

I was enjoying Net10 service out here - phone and texting were running me about $10 a month on prepaid cards, none of that fancy-shmancy data service needed. Then they stopped service out here, as it wasn't "economically viable".

So fuck it. I have a landline that came with my DSL. I don't need a cellphone, at least until I can find something else rock-bottom cheap like I had.

I recently upgraded my phone on Sprint, meaning that I had to extend the contract another two years. I'm not on a primary line, seeing as it's really my dad's contract, but don't be fooled-- $10 for another line, $10 to upgrade that line to unlimited minutes/text/data, and $10 for having a 4G capable phone, plus taxes and surcharge, so I'm paying about $35 a month. It's still a good deal in my opinion, but those extra lines that sound like a bargain will be more than you counted on, especially if you want them to have data included.

I love you, everything burrito.

Cornbread, interrupted.

Leave AT&T ASAP. T-Mobile was my go-to when I first got a cell phone years ago, but now that they've been bought out by AT&T, I'm wary of them from here on out.

I'm personally with Verizon, but only because I get a sweet discount where I work. Family plan-wise, I'd probably go with Sprint. I think their unlimited everything plan is top-notch, especially since unlimited is hard to come by these days.

I think I'm leaning towards Sprint. If I need 4 lines all with a data plan, anyone know what that would run?

I think I do...

Looks like it would be 209 dollars a month using their Unlimited Data plan, which is the cheapest one you could use.

It has unlimited data, texts, mobile to mobile minutes, nights (7p-7a or something like that) and weekends minutes, and 1500 shared anytime minutes.

It might behoove you to go in and talk to a rep about the whole thing, though. I just punched stuff in online for you, but when I went in to get my plan a couple years ago, I got a 27% discount for working for the university. If you have a job, you might get something similar.

I was told that I while I could have saved quite a bit of money on my phone ($200 at the time after rebate) I couldn't have gotten that discount, which seems really true, and was totally worth it.

I work for Verizon, but go through cricKet for phone service. 55$ a month for my Android phone and 3G service unlimited everything. Not to mention they will have a 4G LTE network in my area in early 2012.

I don't reccomend going to Sprint or AT&T. Verizon or T-moblie if you're looking to get a contracted plan. Although T-Mobile is going to be bought out by AT&T soon anyway from what I hear.

There is a LOT of opposition to the merger... a lot of people are saying it's far from a done deal.

Plus, AT&T has to honor all the T-Mobile contracts even if it does go through.

Don't go with Sprint. That's who I had before AT&T and I am much happier. I was constantly having strange charges show up on my bill for stuff that wasn't in my contract, I never used, and I never agreed to use. i also know alot of other people who had this problem. In short Sprint is the devil.

Problem with Cricket is if you leave a major city you get shit for signal and quality.
