Cell phone providers and plans

Do some good research on the area you're in. The only providers I think really have respectable national coverage are AT&T and Verizon. And they cost like it. Sprint has many areas with shit coverage and their really cheap looking plans become just as expensive real fast. T-mobile can be a good choice in some areas and has a good price, but... they aren't always reliable nationwide. Cricket is in the same bag. If your area has coverage and you don't plan to use it much outside that area, you're sold, if not, look elsewhere.

I'm currently with Verizon and about to grab a Motorola Droid 3, but I've previously been with AT&T, Cingular and a short moment of T-Mobile.

Looks like the T-Mobile/AT&T deal is dead.

So you can get unlimited plans through the prepaid services? That's what cricket is right?
Yes, and now with their new contracts with Cell Towers, their service is supurb. A contract phone is about as useful as a e-penis.

Oh and this will be coming out soon :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuK93HmyS_Y

which will be avail on CricKet

Just so you know, Straight Talk recently became awesome by letting you transfer over your unlocked AT&T or T-Mobile phones, even keeping the same phone number. This really opens the door for a greater number of smartphones to be used with unlimited internet and without a contract.

Wow. What reasons do they give for cutting your service, considering it's supposed to unlimited?

In ToS they state that basicly abusing unlmited data its terms for cancling your account. All carriers that have ever said that you have unlimted will do this. Some do it like Sprint where if you use over 300mb while roaming they will cancel your data then after 3 times will cancel your serves. Other like Straight Talk will do it for high data use IE constantly going over 2 gigs.

That's crazy. Advertising "unlimited" service with a HUGE asterisk by it.

I'm not really on the up and up about how much data usage 2 gigs would be, but from what I hear it's hard to go over unless you're streaming video, in which case it's quite easy to go over. As part of a class report I did a while back I remember that streaming a video from your phone is nearly equivalent to something like 100 phone calls as far as how much phone bandwidth usage goes.
