Apparently that bitch is heading straight up the coast, strap-on and all. Been checking my local news site and everyone around here seems to be running around like chicken little. States of emergencies being declared, evacuation routes, shelters, and what have you. Having spent a good dozen summers in Florida in my dad's dinky trailer, I say let this bitch come.

So anyone else in this path of "destruction"? And what are your plans for it?

I for one spent a good 10 minute aruging with my mom about leaving. She is trying to get a motel more inland. I'm trying to get a bottle of Sailor Jerry, a coule dub sacs, some ramen, and the best excuse in the world to wear my captains hat all day long. I guess her and I have different expectations.

Why is there a thread for this breeze while the casualties of the 08/23 Earthquake are forgotten?!

Crono can cross dimensions too!

I get tomorrow off work so that's cool. Historically speaking the house I live in has survived at least 25 hurricanes and I don't expect this one to be any crazier than the rest. I also live on a hill that doesn't flood so I've got that going for me. One of my gutters is loose though so I've gotta fix that tomorrow before the shit hits the fan.

Also, I'm sick of hearing the Earth, Wind, and Fire comparison to the earthquake, hurricane, and wildfire we have going on facebook.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

My mother just drove out from Chicago to pick up my little sisters in New York to bring them to Chicago to fly out. They have to be back in California on Monday and found out in advance their Sunday flights would be canceled apparently. So far, Hurricane Inconvience is the appropriate moniker. Hopefully it stays that way.

What a Tedious fight!

I live in NC, but I'm very much inland (3 hours from Wilmington about 6 hours from the Outer Banks). We're supposed to get rain and 45-50 mph wind gusts, but that's it.

I need a new rock bottom.

I don't expect much more than a bad storm with lots of wind being in northern New Jersey. I still went out and got some supplys, mostly junk food though

The fuzz just drove around announcing we have until 5pm tomorrow to evacuate. The whole town needs to get up and go apparantly, such a scared beach town. But I get to pack up and go to philly for some sore of excursion/binge/adventure. Shit better get torn up if we have to leave.

We're just far enough west to be outside of the "OMFG" Zone. I'm worried about the brook that runs out near my backyard flooding, but other than that I'm not too worried.

Since I haven't been outside of good ol' Philippines, how often does the East Coast of the US gets hurricanes?

About once or twice a year. It's rather unusual for one to go this far north though.
