Soon the classic will cost more than the Switch.

I don't get it. I would have bought one if I could find one at the retailers

Does Nintendo see this product as a potential direct competitor with their Virtual Console service?

Fuck Shit Stack.

I was unaware that it was even for sale seeing as you couldn't find one anywhere. I mean they have plenty sega genesis classic consoles you can buy at Target. Nintendo has a bad habit of low producing high sought after items.

What a joke...

I'll definitely be pre-ordering the SNES Classic Edition if it's announced.

I saw this today and all I could think of was "Nintendo just continues to hate money."

Why?  I mean this makes me not want to buy a Nintendo product again.  They keep making stupid decisions that are not customer-friendly.  Now it's probably for the best as who knows if I would ever touch this after the first hour or so, but I wanted one.  So frustrated with Nintendo!

To make sure I get one. I didn't pre-order the NES Classic because "surely there will be plenty of those available. I'll grab one when I get the chance. surely, right?".

EDIT - I guess the game lineup will be the deciding factor.

I guess...My thought is if you just want to play the games?  Emulate.  I don't want to reward Nintendo for this behavior by giving them a preorder next time.

The funny thing is I own the cartridges for most of the games I'd want to play... but my SNES doesn't have HDMI. =)

I'd love to have the SMW games, all of the DKC games and hopefully FFIV & FFVI all on an itty-bitty, HDMI equipped, console.

There is a definate quailty diffrence between the NES Classic and Orginal Carts over Emulation.

Even after all this time perfect emulation doesnt exist.

I really think that Nintendo is doing this in part because they are about to ramp up their VC service for Switch and in their brain this is some kind of competition. I don't think that's the case at all, but like I said before, Nintendo hates money.

Nintendo's top brass needs to commit harakiri yesterday. Then Nintendo needs to find people with actual modern business sense to direct the company.

I think the way the Switch is being presented and marketed is showing a huge change.

I just have a feeling top brass will override anything having to do with the legacy lineup.
