The Gaping Dragon is seriously old school in its design. You have to watch it very carefully and take note of what attacks it has and when it uses them.

You're safe when it's down flat on the ground, but when it arches up, you're in big trouble. So, run the fuck away when it's reared up and then when its chest expands, wait for a moment and then run towards it as it's just about to go down flat again. Then go in and wail on it until it's going to arch up again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

And now I have no idea where to go. I have a key to Blight Town, but I have no idea where it is, and the three places that are available (The Catacombs, New Londo Ruins and the Valley of the Drakes) are all terrifying.

I like how I'm having more problems with the Hydra in the Basin than I am with any of the bosses thus far.

Just because I'm disappointed with it doesn't mean I haven't played the hell out of it. It's not a great game, but it's far from terrible.

I just spent four hours and lost around twenty thousand souls trying to make Quelaag's sword with her soul, only to find out that the only blacksmith who can make boss weapons is in Anor Lando. I was trying to make the sword specifically because of the snake knights in Sen's Fortress.

Fuck.
