What class?

I have to admit the idea of playing a game like Diablo offline is pretty baffling. At least with Diablo III's single player mode you can pretty easily join your friends without having to create a new character.

I've always considered the Diablo series as a single-player game, with D2's multiplayer just a tacked on feature when multi started to become popular in '99 or so. I was actually kinda surprised when I learned years later that people are so into the multiplayer aspect of it.

Aaaah, how's that "always online" working out for everyone? If this becomes an industry-standard because of D3 success, I at least am comforted by the thought that I did not choose for it.

I though it became standard at launch of Starcraft 2.

So for always online I have issues with it, but not enought o bitch all the time.

PC has been going this way for years and consoles have started down this path as well.

It was really bad at launch, but servers seem much more stable now. I guess it was really bad for everyone who zerg rushed at midnight PDT, but actually sleeping and waking up at a normal time like a normal person things seem to be working just fine.

Naw, if I remember right, SC2 has an offline mode that allows you to play the campaign offline.

Well, I just won a collector's edition of the game (+the book of Cain, whatever that is) so I guess I'll be playing it sooner than I expected :B
(or I might just be a dick and flip it on ebay and buy a regular edition...)
