Captain Planet getting revived by Sony?

Captain Planet told the story of five teens from around the world -- North America, Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and South America (if this isn�??t tailored for today�??s international marketplace, I don�??t know what is) -- that are given powers by Gaia, the earth spirit, in order to protect the planet from the devastation of polluters.

Apparently Sony is close to getting the rights to Captain Planet and plan on making a movie out of it.

Who else wants Don Cheadle as Captain Planet? Don't know what I'm talking about? Watch this:

I was never a fan of the original cartoon so I don't know if I am optimistic.

Still here...

Captain Planet was a terrible show. Everyone watching it knew it was a terrible show but for some reason we all watched it anyway. On the plus side they really can't do any damage to the source material as it was damaged beyond repair from the moment it was conceived.

Oh yes, heart. Everyone makes fun of it for not doing anything, but it did do something. I just don't think they were ever consistantly clear what the hell it actually did.
