Larry Wilmore wasn't my first favorite for that time slot (I had Jessica Williams or Wyatt Cenac more in mind), but he is a very good choice nonetheless. I'm definitely looking forward to his show and what he'll bring.

As for The Minority Report competing directly with Colbert's Late Show, that's mitigated by Comedy Central likely throwing the full episodes up on their website a few hours after so you can catch it the next morning, just like they do with The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. It's currently how Conan fans still manage to catch Colbert.

The Minority Report, huh? I see what they did there.

There's also the 1:30 am rerun, morning and 7:00 PM reruns the next day, and the CC app. Plus other options like Free On Demand, DVR, and other stuff. I'll probably watch Colbert Late Show at 11:30 and catch the Minority Report Rerun at 1:30.

Also I'm really happy for Larry Willmore. He was the best choice IMO. Just not the most obvious since he isn't a regular Daily Show correspondent like Williams, Bee, or Jones.

I still think Jessica Williams will get her own show eventually, but she's just too new so it wasn't the right time.

Sorry to necro this thread,
But we just had the last episode of the Colbert Report tonight, and I is sad to see one of my favorite shows go.
I'm looking forward to see what Colbert can do with the Late show, and am also looking forward to the nightly show with Larry Wilmore. I hope it really works out for him.
