Four-team playoff clears final major hurdle �?? college presidents' approval �?? set for 2014. Look outside for flying pork.

Never thought it'd happen in my lifetime. Guess that dumpster fire of a BCS "championship" game this past January was good for something if it was the main catalyst behind them acting this fast.

It's not perfect. Selection committees could get tricky, there could still be controversies over the 4 vs. 5, particularly if one of those vying for the last playoff spot is an undefeated school from a weaker conference. But it's a start, and AFAIC, ANY playoff is better than none.
