Not at all what I expected, in a very very good way. Amazing atmosphere. Perfectly dosed violence. Great soundtrack. Great pacing. I'm still completely immersed in its atmosphere one week later. Bryan Cranston was, as always, amazing, he manages to make a character we know pretty much nothing about completely earnestly endearing. Gosling's character is a beautiful enigma, best silent protagonist since The Man with No Name.

It's the kind of movie that makes me wish I went to the movies more often.
