'Sup forumgoers! This here panel is here to talk about the "View Askew" universe of movies by Kevin Smith. In case you need a refresher, here's an article on what it's about.

With that out of the way, I just wanted to share my interest on the movies and fandom for the series. Altogether, it's a great collection of movies for almost anyone who likes comedy. I'd say that my favorite movie by him was Dogma. It had some philosophical points that made me think. Onto the new stuff.

Reviews for Jay and Silent Bob reboot are in. It was released only in test markets in theaters, then straight to video. I thought that the movie was decent, but dragged on in some spots. And sometimes the humor missed its mark. Other than that, it's not a bad way to spend a couple hours.

The next movie, Twilight of the Mallrats, has been confirmed to be drafted and will start production when scheduling permits. Here's the FB post in case you're interested! Go ahead and give him a Follow. He's a super nice guy.

Last new thing is the upcoming video games. Yes, you heard right. TWO video games based on JnSB is in the works. One is funded by a crowdfund and is a little further off in development. It's titled Chronic Blunt Punch, and is a cartoon styled beat 'em up. The other looks like a River City Ransom beat 'em up in the retro 8 bit style. It's set to release on the Nintendo Switch in May of this year, and is called Mall Brawl. They're both being made by Interabang Entertainment. Links to both are down below.

I remember the Jay and Silent Bob trailer for the new movie didn't look that funny, but I also didn't Like strikes back or Clerks 2 but love the original Clerks and Mallrats.

Clerks was a classic. Less zingers and more real world. Idk, I just like all the movies in certain ways. Mallrats had that angsty teenager vibe. I feel like all the characters in that one were trying to find out what makes them happy, whether it be causing mischief or finding true love that was there all along.

Yeah I felt those felt more real and underground despite Mallrats having silly moments. I never saw Chasing Amy, and Dogma was alright but I felt they've gone downhill after that. Strikes back and Clerks 2 just felt too meta.

I loved it was just so weird, but it worked. I know that a sequel would be possibly terrible, but seeing the date of the main character's child was intriguing.

I mean, an abortion center employee being chosen to stop the possible apocalypse based on a technicality is just so...Biblical you know?

I loved it.
