Launching in the beginning of 1999, Final Fantasy Online dropped its "VII" from the title and became a resource to cover all Final Fantasy games. Throughout its existence, Final Fantasy Online continued to exude the most complete Final Fantasy VII resource online while providing the first translated Final Fantasy VIII guide, complete with character profiles, weapons, and walkthroughs. Version 4 offered a mecca of media, images, music, and information that would immediately gain the attention and respect of magazines and commercial gaming portals around the world.
