Was the new Karate Kid even considered a remake?  I don't remember hearing any of that when it was coming out.

Crono can cross dimensions too!

My question is when are they going to remake Star Wars: A New Hope.  I just want to hear all the fanboys scream in agony, muahahahaha.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

Pat Morita would like a word. ;)
Jackie Chan, man!  That scene where he has all those punks effectively beat each other up was better than everything that happened in Karate Kids 1-Swank put together.

I think there are lots of people who could play a scarier Terminator than Society Security Schwarzenegger at this point.

I'm against any and all remakes of movies whose originals were already commercially, literarilly and culturally successful and add no new perspective or context at all to the original.

I see where you're coming from, but without remakes I wouldn't have gotten my favourite movie ever - The Thing. There are bound to be others like that.

*(I kid, I kid.  Technically that was a prequel anyways, despite having the same basic story.  I generally term that kind of movie a pre-make.)

Would prefer they'd revive the tv series. :(
the TV series was one of the few shows I actually watched while it was still on the air. I really enjoyed it, minus the direction they tried to go in the final episodes.

But jesus christ how about Summer Glau's acting in that series? Especially during that "love" scene where John has to shut her off after she malfunctions. I almost cry every time I see it.

If they make a movie, I want it to include the cast of the TV series (but I doubt that happens with Lena Headey working on Game of Thrones).

New Robocop will be awesome, right guys?

I still haven't seen the original in full but... that costume/motorcycle design doesn't look half bad.

Som said:

I read somewhere the next terminator movie will have Dwayne' The Rock' Johnson in it. So it'll make a hundred bajillion dollars.

lol, I could actually get behind that if they decide to camp it up.

While I'm not totally against them, I tend to agree they don't need to be remaking movies that were already successful, but Hollywood is practically incapable of doing anything new these days, so it's inevitable.
