I say Korra's better and I thought the original series was just about the greatest thing ever made.

Korra's so good it made me want to go back and watch the Last Airbender, which I didn't like before.

Turns out most of what I saw was from season 1, and now that I've seen the whole series I have to revise my opinion from "I really hate the Last Airbender" to "The second and third seasons were fantastic.  Especially the second."

Still, I think Korra does absolutely everything better.  But a darker, steampunk story with more ambiguous villains, all set in one city, is a lot more up my alley than a grand, globetrotting adventure to stop a nation of generically evil guys.

^Agreed completely.

Although I'm waiting to see in Korra what became of the Kyoshi Warriors.

I love Legend of Korra. Last Airbender was all well and good, but it never grabbed me like Korra has.

I also never really get the "OMG technology what is this!" argument against the show either. Seems like a natural advancement of the kind of stuff the Fire Nation used, and Republic City is the capital of what became of the former Fire Nation Colonies. That and it's 70+ years later and our own world has had advances of technology on an even grander scale within a similar timeframe.

The only thing I don't get is the use of lightning benders for power.  Lightning bending in TLA was supposed to be a rare skill by only the most powerful (Azula).  Now we see multiple minimum wage-looking workers in a power plant lightning bending?

But yeah - the actual tech makes complete sense once the inventions of whatever that guy's name was who was living in the air temple got out to the public.
