Convince me that FFXIII doesn't suck.

Fuck Shit Stack.

Farming for gold in this game was so tedious to the point where it wasn't even fun.

Oh, SO MUCH THIS. I find myself selling off most of my inventory every time I want to make new weapons... How is anyone EVER supposed to make all the weapons? It's ridiculously difficult.

I really despise the "Several Strong Weapons, but no Ultimate Weapon" tactic that they took in this. The only thing worse than creating the Ultimate Weapon yourself, was FFXII's rare item drop shit.

Honestly, I like my ultimate weapons being wielded by an enemy, or sitting in a chest waiting for me. I like them with a story behind them...

Even FFVIII wasn't that bad, because you refined your weapon into something stronger... but there was ONE Ultimate weapon per character...

Now, as I look back I see the crooked path that I had been set upon all those years before, leading me inexorably to this moment. I can still see her face in my mind's eye, poor dear Laura, such a sad tale is ours. A tale of heroes who strove to save humanity only to lose our own.

What a Tedious fight!

Sazh? It's pretty? That's all I got. I pretty much hated just about everything about this game. And I gave it a chance, too. I TRIED to like it, but I can't.

I think I do...

I actually enjoyed it pretty well. I don't mind linearity in games very much, actually. And naturally, it was very pretty.

I enjoyed most of the characters. Even Snow and Hope... kinda. Vanille is my kinda eye candy, so she gets enough bonus points to pull her out of the disliked characters pile.

The battle system was slightly more meh, but in general, still pretty good. I felt like I couldn't survive or could do any damage a lot, which bothered me, but it made enough tension that it was exciting (albeit often frustrating as well.)

Perhaps I have lower video game standards, but I've recommended people play it before. I probably still would if they can get past the linearity. That really seems to be the biggest failing factor for most people.

Oh. And Baby Chocobo.

The only good part about FF13 was when I decided I've had enough and quit the game roughly after I got to Pulse and realized it that it wasn't even as big as half the areas in Infinite Undiscovery.

^^That's pretty much where I stopped playing. 50 hours in and I was like "fuck this".

LOL and FF13-2 will have downloadable content that was completed before the game was released.. but they're keeping it as DLC.

I need a new rock bottom.

Saw the new trailer for 13-2 today.  The story seems...I don' know. I really enjoyed 13's battle system so to see how they improved on it, could be a reason I pick this up.  The fact that preorder content being spilt up over different companies and DLC content already being added (probably not for free either) is a downside for me. I don't get why companies do this, just give everyone the same stuff from the get go.

Love the information Square Enix gave about XIII-2

Source: Magicbox

producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama revealed some additional tidbits of the game.

  • After the ending of FFXIII, Serah and Snow have lived together for 2 years, but they were not married. Snow left her to search for Lightning.
  • The main villain Kaias is one of the strongest enemy in the series.
  • Summon Raid is the monster summon system in this game. Monsters will sometimes turn into crystal, at this point you have successfully captured a monster to use in battle
  • Square Enix will release a Chinese version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 in Asia on Jan 31, 2012, which will have Japanese voice and English/Chinese text options. You can also import save data from either English or Japanese version of Final Fantasy XII

The on in bold is the perfect example of useless information.

I'd say the first bullet point is also hilariously useless, most people don't care for FF13's "story". Much less Snow.

How I wanted to stab snow so badly.  He was more annoying than Hope!

Looks like the draw system is back.   Anyway,  "strongest enemies in the series" is very lulzworthy. Unless monsters only turn into crystal when they are low on hp and you use a special ability, in that case it's just the trainer job that's been around since FF3...
