I liked your post on the ballroom dance. It brought back memories of that scene. FFVIII holds a dear place in my heart, even if it's fundamentally flawed in several ways.

Reading these little looks back at FF8...

I find myself struck with a surprising amount of nostalgia.

I really wish there was a nice, HD mod or conversion for the game.

The problem with HD remaking the PS1 titles in the prerendered backgrounds. Sure you can make the in-battle graphics better, but outside of battles all you can do is improve the character models. The prerendered backgrounds, beautiful as they may be, are stuck at their low resolution. It would require a complete remake.

This is true...you know what I find kind of strange though?

The SNES era stuff, I can still replay now without a single thought of the looks of it being dated. A part of me just thinks the spritework looks quaint.

But when it comes to trying to replay the PS1 era stuff...it just looks ugly :(

I guess I'll have to settle for my memories... sigh.
