I still love the prerendered backgrounds. I would not call the PSX generation ugly simply because of them, although the in-battle graphics are nothing special.

Hehe, I'm not saying it was a horrid game or anything. I'm just saying that all the jagged edges, lack of detail on the models, etc, etc...

I'm just saying that if I look at spritework from the older FFs and the jaggy models from FF8...well, one of them looks cute and intentional (even though it wasn't) and the other looks pretty clearly like they did the best they could but were constrained by the technology at the time.
