Sadly, the Final Fantasy series is dead to most people and at the very least, people like me who the series isn't dead to will probably admit that their best days are behind them.
So let's end the argument. Which Final Fantasy was the best (and worst)? Here's how this will work. Below are different categories each with a point value associated with them. The best categories have a positive value where as the worst will take away points from that game. List your personal favorites from each category and in two weeks we will total up the points and once and for all have a ranking of the games. And lets keep it to the numbered FFs if we could (as in FFI through FFXIV not Tactics as it's not as easy to compare to the others). Also try to be fair to a game based on the period it was released, such as you can't blame FFII for having poor graphics and not say the same of I or III) Ready? Proceed.

What about direct sequels like X-2 and XIII-2? And remakes? I only experienced the older games in remake form.

I think I can say with certainty that neither X-2 or XIII-2 will be voted the best, so I'd just assume exclude them. But, yeah, remakes can count as the original game since it's all the same concept. Especially where the soundtracks are concerned would help show how beautiful those songs can be.

C'mon, I was gonna vote Chocolina best NPC! Haha...no. But some characters from X-2 are definitely worthy of 'Worst' titles...

True that remakes showcase the excellent music, but what about the PSP & DS remakes with the significantly redone graphics? I guess anyone who has played them should know what the original looks like, and base it on that knowledge.

I also haven't played XI or XIV.

I haven't played XI or XIV; whether that'll help or hurt their score I can't say. Also, when in doubt, I spread the wealth around a little so it wasn't quite so much "FFVI good, FFV bad".

Trek, I really think we need to add a best/worst world category. It's a huge part of what makes an RPG enjoyable.
