Knoxville, Tennessee. The good part is the low cost of living (although even that's somewhat offset by the low wages here). The bad part is that it's heavily Republican once you step foot off the University of Tennessee campus (and even then, UT has more conservative voices than the average public college campus). The ugly part is the atrocious air quality.
