I'm listening to Sufjan Steven's new Christmas album, and holy shit is it good. Christmas Unicorn is all the best bits of Age of Adz, except a Christmas EP.

The Joy Division in this song makes it just that much better.

Your response to Christmas music is exactly what Christmas Unicorn is about. I think Christmas music, particularly traditional Christmas music is actually pretty rad when there's an apostasy from its religious roots.

I can like the idea of a religious holiday (and in turn, religious art) without being religious. We do for all the 'dead' religions, so why not for the ones that are still alive?

That said, nothing, I say nothing, not even Sufjan's interpretation of it, can save Jingle Bells from being anything but a steaming pile of turd music.
