The only COM monster I've used so far is a Feral Behemoth I got on my first unlucky encounter with one of the bastards in Yasscha's Massif 10 AF (and it attacked me while I was well within the spotlight too!). Funny thing is, in the Paradigm Deck their Feral Link is more like SYN, in that it buffs the party up. But naturally, in every other way they're built like tanks and act like them too. :D

But usually I just stuck with MED monsters (like Cait Sith and Flaninator) - it meant I usually didn't bother switching Serah and Noel to MED unless absolutely necessary, such as boss fights, as the monster unit could usually cover healing duties pretty well most of the time.

Yeah, I never used a COM monster either. I generally had Cloudburst for a RAV, and would switch to Flanitor when I needed a MED. If you want a COM though, I think you should be able to get Chichu (sp?) already, which is probably the best non-DLC COM. You should just look up how to find him, cause if I remember correctly it's not a random encounter and probably not something you'd ever figure out on your own.

Yeah i looked up how to get Chichiu but I apparently needed Mog Throw lvl 2, which I don't have. I need Mog Hunt lvl 2 for Gold chocobo as well. >.>

Edit: Finished Academia at the start of Ep 4. Hell of a place to grind CP, though I'm way overpowered from my previous grind session.

I'm assuming I'm nearing the end of Ep 4 (need to go to Academia 4xx) and finally took down the 4 side bosses in The Archylte Steepe (pretty sure I aged a few years from the stress of that fight with Yomi).

Still enjoying the game, surprisingly.

I finally finished the game. Thought it was a solid addition (compared to recent entries, total shit compared to the old ones) to the series and the best S-E sequel. As with XIII the potential was there but the world needed smashing wide open, also the end was a bit of a let down. Also, what the hell was going on with Ciaus' Van Halen style headband? Talk about an 80's throwback. He wouldn't have looked out of place in The Lost Boys or The Goonies.
