Let's add more confusion to he mix!

Dissapointed that they want it to be like XIII.

Whew, they are only saying it will be like ff13 in the sense that there were three titles but each game had a full story with beginning middle and end. That's a relief that the comparisons end there.

Being more like ff13 in any other nature than stucture of the 3 parts would be the final nail in the coffin that would preven me from getting this game until everyone beats all three parts and tells me it's good.

Since Final Kingdom Hearts Fantasy 3/XIVersus + has failed me, I guess that this might be my last rodeo with ol' Zipper-belt. If this doesn't pull through, $queenix will be dead to me.

Wow... Nomura, Kitase and Nojima just... can't let FFXIII and the whole stupid Fabula Nova Crystallis thing go can they. No matter what the title, they always find some way to name drop FFXIII in, regardless of how irrelevant that might be.

Having said that, it sems this is just going to be like the Compilation and feature side stories from other characters concurrent with the 'main' storyline (the Compliation itself already did that - for instance On the Way to a Smile ~ Case of Denzel showed Denzel's backstory which occured during the actual events of the original game, so as long as the core ideas and story remain, and the storyline doesn't suddennly deviate wildly to characters who have no direct connection to the game itself, especially during the disc 2 story when Cloud is comatose and the Weapons have awoken, then this should be okay.

Deep down part of me is quietly presuming that what Nomura, Kitase and Nojuma do will result in anything but however....

Why? Because I can of course!

I'm not sure how to feel about this? Honestly, I can only hope for disc 1 spoiler
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
an Aerith revival quest
if ONLY to somehow undo Advent Children. I got so bored watching that movie.

New screens

If I had the capacity within me to be less excited about this game, these screens would have gotten the job done handily.  FFXV has set the tone for the FF series going forward.

They look interesting. I wish it was possible for me to be intersted in it, but the purchase packages sealed the deal.

I can't really tell anything new from those screens., other than that there does appear to be an ATB gauge.

It's looking like it'll be like FF12 except with dodging.

Fuck Shit Stack.

I hate how final fantasy has become an action rpg instead the traditional turn based that it used to be.
I wish it could be more like ff X 2's hybrid action rpg/ turn based instead.

I loved FFX2's battle system when it came out but it felt very sloppy and chaotic on a recent replay.  The older I get the less patience I have for anything short of perfect.

FFVII remake production now being moved in-house: http://kotaku.com/square-enix-is-now-doing-final-fantasy-vii-remake-in-ho-1795630436

Oh, and Nomura is heading it up. Assuming any of you are still holding onto hopes that this will be any good, I hope you all didn't plan on playing this one before 2030.

Yeah that 'Q4 2017' release date was always going to be a pie in the sky date for them.

Also, related to that, apparently SE are so desperate for programmers and artists for the project they've put an urgent recruitment drive for it:

http://www.siliconera.com/2017/05/24/final-fantasy-vii-remake-team-urgently-recruiting-heres-message-key-staff/

The more I hear about this the more I shake my head and think that all involved just doesn't know what the hell they are doing. SE really needs to fire Nomura and his ilk and just put Yoshi-P in charge, who seems to be the only one in SE with his head actually screwed on right.

Having said that, I'm still interested in this because the remake will allow full open-world exploration of Midgar which is something I always craved in the original FFVII - being able to walk those smoky cobbled streets with the Shinra Building towering above in full HD gloom is enough to sell me on the game alone.
