I wouldn't know. The only way I'd buy something written by Daniel is under physical duress.

"Of Christ's twelve Apostles Judas alone proved to be traitor. But if he had acquired power, he would have represented the other eleven Apostles as traitors, and also all the lesser Apostles whom Luke numbers as seventy." - Leon Trotsky

I have a blog. This is its URL. You should read it. It's about education and skepticism and books and it has a lot of pictures of Batman and Robin in it: https://baldermoon.wordpress.com/

The end of The Walking Dead, Volume 14, was pretty fucking great.  After two? maybe three? chapters of "human" drama it was pretty great to have a nice, large-scale, high-stakes zombie beatdown.

Yeah, Marvel fixed its biggest mistake since hiring Quesada with that one.

Spoilery stuff that involved Bucky not being dead and also getting his own series by Ed Brubaker.

It is really weird to tell people that I'm enjoying Stormwatch.

So I started reading Locke and Key a couple week ago with just the first trade, and it was good enough to keep going.  Then in the second trade a young boy stuck a key in the back of his head, opened up his skull, and jammed a book inside so as to learn to cook.

I think I love this series.

Here be spoilers...

Huntress #1 (of 6) -- December 2011 -- by Paul Levitz
I picked this up yesterday.  I saw it on the rack and decided to see how the reboot is handling Helena.  Since it is the first of six parts, there is nothing mind blowing.  Helena is back in Italy to track shipments of contraband that are headed for Gotham.  While at the port, she comes upon a container full of sex slaves and another container full of M16s.  The bad guy is shown interacting with his minions.  He's pretty one dimentional.  Helena characterwise is not anything special.  She's all business.  Thankfully the thought bubbles are minimal, a nice change for me personally after reading Red Robin.  The first issue stands out for me thanks to the art of Marcus To and coloring by John Dell.  Helena is appropriately curvacious in a sexy Italian way.  She's well depicted in both her costume (the traditional full body suit) and several dresses that show off her figure.  Her face is well done.  I am not a fan of her upturned nose given her by past artists; Marcus gives her an appropriate womanly beauty.  The action is well done and easy to follow.  The colors in the night scenes are nice as they tie in well with the various shades of Helena's purple theme.

I will give it 7 out of 10.  Nothing mind blowing, but it leaves me wanting more.

The New 52 blurb at the end hints that Helena will be tied in some way to her Earth-2 counterpart thanks to a new JSA book starting up soon.

I'm enjoying it.  I'm new to the characters, but so far they seem pretty interesting.

Fuck you, DC.

EDIT:  And X-23 got canceled.  Do comic publishers just hate me personally or something?

After this month's issue, I've crossed the border, and I definitely recommend Red Hood and the Outlaws.

With Avengers Academy, Thunderbolts, Venom and X-Factor all approaching the bubble?  No, it's not just you. I'm pretty sure they hate me as well.

New Guardians is the Green Lantern comic I've always wanted.  It's just so FUN.  And KYLE.
