Yeah, Chang saved that episode last night. Made me want to play L.A. Noire again.

I watched the pilot of American Horror Story and was not impressed.  The show can be summed up in two words: too much.  Jessica Lange chewed so much scenery that I don't think there's any left for the second episode, the school bully was so over-the-top that she came off as mentally ill, and when something weird or important happened, something else happened before I had time to process it.  It's a shame, because I like a good supernatural story.

Currently playing: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, Picross DS
Last played: Time Hollow (good)
Last watched: Agent Carter (very good)

I just finished the Season Five of Dexter.  I'd heard not-so-good things about it, but I really liked it.  It's probably the weakest season so far, but a weak season of Dexter is better than a lot of shows ever get.

American Horror Story and New Girl are the first new shows I'm giving up on.  Whitney is treading water for the moment. Meanwhile, Ringer and The Secret Circle have pretty well cemented themselves as my favorite newcomers.

Edit: Double posting is back?

^Only if the posts are more than 24 hours apart.

First epsiode of the New House was dull, and pretty much felt like a repeat of season 6's opener.

I think the make or break moment of season 5 Dexter was that awful ending. Lumen deciding at the last minute to leave? Deb and the plastic curtain cop-out? Lame. I know the whole show would've drastically changed if they'd gone the other way on both those parts, but then again the writers weren't afraid of the drastic changes made by season 4's finale.

I keep hearing people aren't that into New Girl, but I've loved every episode of that show thus far.

I'm going to try SCIENCE!

I actually really liked Dexter season 5, although I'll agree it was on the weaker side in comparison to the others (altohugh I still put it above season 2). My big annoyances in addition to the Lumen copout (I was hoping Julia Stiles would stick around :( ) the whole santa muerta subplot went pretty much nowhere, and Angel and LaGuerta continue to make very little sense in relation to each other.

Dexter season 5's problem was that it felt like pure filler.  There just wasn't much of a point to it, and it moved really, really slowly.  I don't think it had a very good episode until the last three or four, and then the last episode was a complete copout.  So it was slow and boring and ultmately led to nothing.

God I hated season 5.  They didn't even deal with Dexter's family situation.  Just shipped the kids off until the end so they wouldn't have to work on that angle.  I can't see a point to S5.  I just can't.

Hopefully S6 will be better.  I haven't started watching it yet.  Won't be hard to be worse.

EDIT:

Breaking Bad

"I won."

That shot of Gus was silly and a little ridiculous. Only flaw in an otherwise perfect finale. WHERE IS MIKE ?!

Spoiler : So Walt really did poison the kid, knowing it wouldn't be fatal... dayum.

Mind your P's and Q's

It seems I've picked the wrong time to start slacking with Breaking Bad. The begining of the season was moving a little slow for me (I've been a huge fan since the show's pilot) so I decided to wait untilt he season rounded itself out. And I just see giddyness everywhere and I feel left out. Woe is me.

Community has been tickling me in new and exotic ways ever since I picked it up a month or two ago and binged on the entirety of it. Having slaved away some good years at a community college I find a much deeper level of connection and humor in it. And Troy is my hero.

I've also recently accustomed myself to Doctor Who. Before the surgery a few of my friends talked me into getting on The Doctor's bandwagon so I decided to give it a shot. Spent the better part of a day reading every possible thing I could about the first 20+ years of the show and get as much of a feeling for everything as I could. Then they cut me open and now I'm halfway through Season 4, loving it to death. My only fear is that I'll run out before I fully heal.

Damn good Sons of Anarchy tonight.

This episode was exactly the kind of thing season 3 was missing.  So glad this show returned to form.  I think this was the best ep since season 2.

Holy shit, I loved Breaking Bad. I'm bummed that there's only one season left, but people behind the show know what they're doing and you know it's going to end awesomely.

I made this for you!

One season left is probably a good thing.  I'm not sure how long you could stretch that premise before it just gets stupid.  Stories with endings are way better than ones that overstay their welcome.

Plus next season is apparently sixteen episodes, so we'll get a little more out of it.
