Eiko Ishiwata - Cosmo Canyon

Love it!   If they ever remake FFVII, this is exactly how I want the music to be done.  As close as possible to the originals, but with real instruments. :)

Cream -- Wheels of Fire

Great album.  Not as great as Disraeli Gears, but great nonetheless.

HALE YEAH

Finally ended up picking up an M.I.A. album, specifically Kala, because I already know I like Paper Planes, and I finally bought my first Kylie album, despite listening to Kylie for 5eva already, and some Kate Nash and some Peter Bjorn and John.

The Kylie and the Kate Nash express my typical pop fascination (read: gay as all fuck), but Kate Nash coupled with Peter Bjorn and John exhert my strong hipster presence. M.I.A. is just badass, so suck my dick.

Getting into Gotye a bit lately. His vids are so good to watch...who needs cars and hoes? :p
Includes:

State of the Art - Evil robot taking over a planet, and it actually makes sense with the lyrics. Melikes :)
Hearts a Mess - The main music is so addictive :s . The video is very relevant and Tim Burtonish too...which I love :)
And that more popular one that's making the rounds lately. I prefer the other 2 songs, personally, although I do like this one too.

My most recent 3 let's plays:

Zelda: Oracle of Seasons - Link (Din, Onox, Maku...I'm so funny)
Killer7 (Completed) - Link
Luigi's Mansion (Completed!) - Link
My main youtube page: Link

At the moment, FIrefox AK - Colour The Trees

In general, lately, I've been listening to her, Iona, The Burns Unit, fun. (who has easily released the best album of the year so far), Ladyhawke, Katie Melua, Dum Dum Girls, Rilo Kiley, The Paper Melody, The Good Natured, Kate Nash, Lisa MIskovsky, Lights, and Dia Frampton/Meg & Dia. All highly recommended if you've never listened to them.

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean.

Hell yeah!

How is the latest Dum Dum Girls?  I have their previous album and it's okay, but since I heard the dude from Raveonettes produced their latest one I'm a bit more interested.

Dude, the last PB&J is fucking awesome!  And yeah MIA's pretty good.  I never bought any albums because some of her songs are annoying, but some just fucking rule.  Overall, I like Santigold better.  I guess I compare them because they sound similar.

Time for some covers:

Bluegrass Ace of Base.  The first one on the list.  http://www.covermesongs.com/2011/10/download-a-free-tribute-to-ace-of-bases-the-sign.html

Matthew Good Band - Enjoy the Silence http://grooveshark.com/#!/album/Rare+And+Unreleased/1123538

Pretty great rendition of Will The Circle Be Unbroken https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCgeIx1iSyk

...Heh, we're kind of on a bit of a bluegrass kick.

Of all those, my favourite is Heart's a Mess, because it's from such a wicked and chillax album. Making Mirrors was just a mess compared to Like Drawing Blood, and even Boardface, which was an album that is pretty forgettable. It's actually pretty sad that he's getting international recognition only because his video went viral, and he didn't use as many samples (so there weren't a bunch of copyright issues in selling his albums overseas), because if he deserves recognition, it's for one of the best albums of 2006.

Also, State of the Art was released in like early 2010, showing that Making Mirrors was not as... tight as Like Drawing Blood.

Ugh, just... so disappointed. This was like Hard Candy after Confessions on a Dancefloor level of disappointment. This was like Born This Way after The Fame Monster.

I absolutely love it. It was one of my favourite albums of last year, a pretty great case of indie rock that seems by the numbers, but rises above it with good songwriting and by just plain being fun. The only thing that was a disappointing was that the single "Bedroom Eyes" was probably the best song on the album imo - not that that's bad, the song is fantastic and so is the album, it just kinda sucks to hear a song on the radio, love it, and then discover you've already heard the best thing the album has to offer.

Any chance you could recommend any other good songs from him? Taking into consideration that I really like State of the Art? Are there any more with good videos? I realise that it's all opinion, but out of what you think are good?

Well if you can get your hands on Like Drawing Blood, I'd say listen to the entire thing. Learnalilgivinanlovin is an awesome track, but A Distinctive Sound is a sample masterpiece. The Only Way is also pretty awesome, and Thanks For Your Time was some of the most fun I'd ever had at a concert.

Shit, now I have to listen to the the album again.

The Only Thing I Know from Boardface is also pretty damn awesome.

EDIT: I'm not saying I don't like Gotye's most recent album, but it was a huge disappointment, and went in the wrong direction, I feel. It lacks the focus and cohesion of the previous albums. I would say I definitely prefer the second half of the album to the first half.

Thanks you very much, Murasme. I shall spend tomorrow listening to his stuff that you've mentioned :D

Oh yeah, that would be disappointing when the single is the best song.  Still, sounds decent, I should check it out. :)
