Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson did Marvel movies after The Spirit. Jon Favreau did Iron Man after Daredevil. Michael Clarke Duncan did Sin City after Daredevil. Natalie Portman did Thor after V for Vendetta. Tommy Lee Jones did Captain America after Batman Forever. In many cases their second movie is far better than their first movie. I don't see why they shouldn't be given that opportunity.
