Rights-holders (or more often, specialized companies hired by rights-holders) will seek out shared content and report connected IP addresses to the ISPs. The ISP will then take action against you base on the accusation. And they have a horrible track record with accusing innocent people. Also, fuck the RIAA.
Also, prevent IP address snooping cheaply. I use it. It's good.
