Kal
yes

Anakin : You are so beautiful.
Padme : It's only because I'm so in love...
Anakin : No, it's because I'm so in love with you
Padme : So love has blinded you ?
Anakin : Well that's not exactly what I meant.
Padme : But it's probably true !

Even Meryl Streep and Marlon Brando, directed by Orson Welles, would not be able to make dialogue like this sound good.

I know how they work

I was really, really little when I first saw Temple of Doom.  The hallway with the bugs, the heart scene, and that evil brat kid with the voodoo doll-thing all scared the shit out of me.  I hated it for years for that reason  Then when I was in my teens I watched it from a fresh perspective, and I found that it lacked all the humor and globe-trotting adventure that I loved in the other two, so I disliked it for new reasons.

My favorite is Last Crusade.  I've seen it God knows how many times but I never get tired of it.

Crusader
Not Even My Dad Hit Me

I never got on the Temple of Doom hate train either.  I mean, I don't think it's nearly as good as Raiders or Crusade (I've yet to see Crystal Skull), but the way people talk about it, goddamn.

Plus, dat heart scene.

Crono
Crono can cross dimensions too!

Last Crusade > Raiders > Crystal Skull > Temple of Doom.  I REALLY hate ToD and half the reason is the asian kid.  Same reason that Rambo (the second film) is my least favorite of the Rambo movies; that asian woman.

And no, I don't hate asian people at all; those two characters are just stupidly annoying.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

Taller Than Tall

If it wasn't for that heart scene, I wouldn't have any awesome valentines to hand out today, so it gets a nod from me by default. KALI MA! KALI MA!

I went to check it out. I didn't think the 3D added much of anything to the film. Altough it was nice see the shitty pupput Yoda replaced.

I'm in the middle when it comes to the prequels. They do fall short of the Original Trilogy but they are far from big screen abominations. The biggest problem when it came to much of the writing for the PT is that Lucas did it completely shorthand. He wrote it with believe that the majority of people who would watch these movies in numerical order already knew how everything turned out.

For example, yes most of us know that Obi-Wan was Anakin's mentor. But when you look at how he "gets the job" in the PT it makes no logical sense. Here the Jedi come across this kid who could very well end up being the thing that saves or destroys the order and you're going to hand him off to a just newly minted Jedi Knight for training, are you fucking kidding me. Yoda should have gotten up off his ass and done it himself, it was THAT important. Again that doesn't happen because most of already knew going in that Obi-Wan was Anakin's mentor so Lucas doesn't even bother to go about it in a way that would make sense and we get what we did get which was a big WTF were the Jedi thinking moment.

Meryl Streep could do anything.

"Of Christ's twelve Apostles Judas alone proved to be traitor. But if he had acquired power, he would have represented the other eleven Apostles as traitors, and also all the lesser Apostles whom Luke numbers as seventy." - Leon Trotsky

I have a blog. This is its URL. You should read it. It's about education and skepticism and books and it has a lot of pictures of Batman and Robin in it: https://baldermoon.wordpress.com/

I'm still waiting for that moment when the film industry comes full circle and Meryl Streep gets the main part in a biopic of Meryl Streep.

"On one small planet, in an otherwise forgettable movie, one incredible character could not eat the burrito She had made. All the burritos of all of the microwaves in Her consist, with their whirling atoms; by Her were and ever-are all things devoured."

That was pretty funny in parts. I agree that Obi-Wan should have accompanied them on Tatooine. I also think he should have been a full fledged Jedi from the beginnning and have been the one to discover Anakin and believe in him from the get go. It would have made Anakin's betrayal in RoTS that much more painfull because we would have been invested in the relationship.

I've been there, hombre.

I listened to Mr. Plinkett's audio commentary up until the point where Qui Gon and co are eating at Anakin's house. I love Mr. Plinkett's reviews, but the commentary was more random ramblings than anything. Funny at times, but not as good as his reviews.
