Finally got around to re-reading (and catching up on the last few issues of) Morning Glories.
This is possibly the mindfuckiest comic I've ever read, and there's still over 70 issues to go. My brain is twisted into at least three separate Gordian Knots right now, and it's awesome.

Give Life Back To Music
My girlfriend just got me to start reading American Vampire. So far it's not as original as it's trying so hard to be, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Looking forward to continuing for sure.

Good. More people should be reading American Vampire.
On a different note I finally got around to reading the new Captain Marvel series and aside from a really bad first arc it's pretty fucking fun. I think it's filling a void in comics that's been around since the DC reboot. Namely, a superhero comic with a lot of character interactions, personal stuff, and a supporting cast. It reminds me a lot of the John Rogers Blue Beetle run in that regard.

Yeah I agree. Carol's a great character. I was hoping she'd be in the Guardians movie but it seems unlikely.
I read a good article recently about how she's one of the strongest female characters Marvel has - in a way an interesting combination of Captain America's military background and Thor's level of powers. They need to do more with her.

She's always been one of my favorites. First read her as Binary. But her previous costume was probably the best designed female costume ever. Changing it did her no favors.

Yeah, I like her new costume but the black one was amazing.
Simple, sleek, not overly revealing (or well not more than any other superlady costume), with just the right amount of color between the gold Z and the red sash. And a domino mask! So great.

Also, I love most of Ms. Marvel's costumes. The black and yellow one is the best, but I liked the red and blue one that Moonstone wore for a while a lot, and the new one (aside fromt he dumb haircut) is really cool, too. She tends to have great superhero fashion sense.

Reading Avengers Academy now, and wow! Just got through issue 12 (where they become their future selves for a bit). Looked at the last page and instantly teared up at Mettle and Hazmat's pain. Very seldom a comic has made me do that (only one I can think of is when Illyana died in the 90s).

I saw the Flashpoint Paradox yesterday, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it in comparison to the painfully mediocre comic. I still think that the story was an overblown Elseworlds story, and I'm still bummed out that such a mediocre story brought in the reboot, but the movie was really enjoyable.
As an aside, why the fuck is the next DCAU movie going to be the first arc of the nu52 Justice League? Goddamn was that story awful. Justice League has gotten way better, but holy hell was that an inauspicious beginning to the series. I would much prefer something that concentrated on one of the B or C lister characters, if they want to start delving into the nu52 material. I think it's high past time for an animated Constantine movie.

A lot of the DC animated movies improve upon the comic they're based on. Maybe the shitty JL arc can be made into something enjoyable.
I need to see Flashpoint Paradox, but given how ambivalent I am toward Barry Allen it'll probably be awhile.
In the meantime I still fucking hate what they're doing to the Question in the New 52. Why, Geoff Johns? Why?
Marvel is seriously starting to overtake DC as far as quality goes these days. I find myself waaay more hype for the Marvel books I read than the DC ones now.

Yeah, I dunno why DCAU are focusing on average titles. I mean Jesus, they still haven't done Kingdom Come, nevermind anything else.
Btw, I find it odd that Injustice's comic covers what happens when Superman goes out of control and that they decided to do something very similar in Justice League. Oddly enough I find Injustice to be the better title.
