Comes and goes like the wind...

I did pick it up as well (I know I'm part of the problem), but just haven't gotten around to starting it yet, it at least appears though based on the reviews that Square did take the FFXIII criticism to heart and tried to make some changes to the core design.

Haven't played yet*, but I've watched my wife, and it looks like good, silly fun.  Gorgeous to look at.

We spend a lot of time joking about Serah's, ahem, sudden blossoming and how the camera subtly focuses on it.  And the fact that her clothes magically change and then no one remarks on it.  I dunno why they wouldn't just put her in the new default right away, it's actually a neat costume.

*ME3 comes out in three weeks.  There is no way i'll finish XIII-2 in that time, and when ME3 comes out, that's all i'm gonna play, and by the time I finish it it will have been long enough to feel like a restart of XIII-2 is necessary, so  I'm just waiting until I finish ME3 before I even start.  I hate getting into an RPG and then finding another one to play and getting distracted out of the first one.

Sazh returns.

...once you finish his adventure, you'll be able to add him to your party.
That's interesting.

...and the alt costumes should be the regular outfits.  Especially Noel's.  Hopefully they'll release the game with all DLC included, at some point.  FFXIII-2 GOTY Edition.

Once you get the Clock Master fragment ability...hilarity ensues. It actually makes all the melodramatic scenes in the game fun to watch because it's all in high speed. Plus making the battles all go superfast makes a big difference in cutting your time down when you have to farm. Especially if your trying to farm Trephehedrons from Yomi. The field killer one is nice too.

Heh, I fell asleep looking for Captain Cryptic.

Too few citizens give me clues to his whereabouts. I mean, I went exactly where they all initially said to go; and when I couldn't find the bugger, I went out into the city again to confirm from people's hearsay that he was, in fact, where I originally went to look for him; but for some weird reason, nobody would say anything anymore, so I was forced to just run aimlessly around the area where he should have been, but to no avail. And somewhere in there I dozed off.

And I had no idea that an attack strategy centered around damaging your opponent exclusively via Poison was a viable option for achieving a five-star rating, especially for one of the four big marks of the Archylte Steppe. Lol.

The Yomi battle is pretty much a battle of attrition. You can't stagger fhe fucker for any real amount of time before he puts his shields up and breaks your chain bonus. You pretty much have to keep him poisoned for the entire battle and just outlast him that way.

Yeah, once my friend told me that that's how I should do it, the battle was surprisingly easy. Tortoise is a monster of a paradigm (but I suppose it always was).

So I actually got a Jackpot in slots during Super Victory Mode totalling 5000 casino coins. Won't be long before I can start concentrating on hunting down the remaining monsters for that bestiary fragment... :)

I've been there, hombre.

DLC includes two old FF6 villains

I have no interest in 13-2, but that quasi-realistic take on Ultros made me chuckle.

I don't get it - is there a point to any of this DLC?  I haven't started playing the game yet, but I keep hearing about all the DLC coming out and it just sounds useless.

The point is to continue making money.  The DLC content is, for the most part, superfluous.

Ugh, awhile ago, I was seriously considering buying Noel's Altair costume, but yes, you're right: Considering how superfluous all the DLC is -- especially at the prices they're asking -- they well and truly are not worth the buy, despite how badass some of it looks (and yes, I think the N7 armor is badass and damn sexy).

My main problem with any character/monster DLC is that you are restricted to using them in particular paradigm setups -- They are not fully fleshed out in the gameplay sense. Like, to be able to have Jihl in the party is pretty cool, except for the fact that she can only serve as a Saboteur; so why would I pay $3 for something that amounts to a novelty item that I'll maybe use for boss fights that require heavy debuffing?

As for costumes in general? I have absolutely no clue as to how Square Enix can justify the same $3 pricetag. What a joke.

And don't even get me started on downloadable weapons.

I got my platinum on this today, and it wasn't too hard to get either, other than one or two optional bosses. Yomi was murder!
I'm surprised to say that I really enjoyed this and it was a long game after you do all the sidequests.
Please don't discard this game solely based on FF13, the reviewers or other gamers who haven't played it yet/went into the game not giving it a chance.

7.5/10 for me :)

My most recent 3 let's plays:

Zelda: Oracle of Seasons - Link (Din, Onox, Maku...I'm so funny)
Killer7 (Completed) - Link
Luigi's Mansion (Completed!) - Link
