Ticket bought for the Saturday after it comes out (I ain't cool enough to stay up late on Thursday night... and have no babysitter for Friday!). My level of hype right now is through the damn roof.

I gotta admit, I'm getting jazzed for this movie, in spite of myself. First Star Wars film in over a decade. Media overflowing with hype. Merchandise on every shelf. It's impossible not to get swept up. Let's party like it's 1999!

the man on the steet is starting to have his say and, while there's a lot of echoing the initial raving, there are also a fair number who are voicing legitimate sounding concerns regarding loose threads and how it all feels like setup for the next films rather than a story that can comfortably stand on its own while being part of a larger whole. On the plus side, damn near everyone seems to agree it knocks the stuffing out of the prequels at the very least.

I'm going on Christmas Eve. Not a huge Star Wars fan, and didn't want to deal with opening weekend craziness. Plus we go to a theatre where you pick specific seats ahead of time and there are some that are just clearly better than others, so we wanted them to be available.

But that means I'm going to be spoiler dodging all week!
