Ancient Forest
Overview
The Ancient Forest is a hidden jungle dungeon near Cosmo Canyon. It can be reached early by defeating Ultimate Weapon in the region or later by climbing the terrain after acquiring a green, black, or gold chocobo. Progress depends on using insects, frogs, plants, and hanging vines to cross gaps and manipulate the environment. The forest contains rare materia, powerful equipment, and several unique enemies. It is entirely optional and rewards careful experimentation rather than straightforward combat.
