Balamb Garden MD Level
Overview
Balamb Garden's MD Level is an ancient mechanical complex hidden beneath the academy. Its rusted ladders, pipes, valves, platforms, and oil-filled chambers contrast sharply with the Garden's clean public architecture and reveal that the structure predates its use as a school. Squall's group descends here while missiles approach, attempting to activate the buried shelter system that ultimately allows the Garden to move. The area contains several industrial monsters, including the Oilboyles, and a number of one-time draw points and items. Once the emergency is resolved, the MD Level is no longer available for normal exploration.
