D-District Prison
Overview
D-District Prison is a massive cylindrical facility in the Galbadian desert, arranged as stacked circular floors around a central lifting mechanism. The party is divided during the escape, and progress alternates between groups while prisoners, guards, monsters, and mechanical systems occupy different levels. Several floors contain optional card players, a temporary shop, and one-time rewards that become inaccessible after leaving. The changing vertical position of the prison and the repeated ring-shaped corridors create a deliberately oppressive, disorienting environment. The sequence ends with an exterior escape under fire, after which the prison cannot be revisited.
